Over the weekend I saw watched something very disturbing. The Bravo channel decided to do the top 100 funniest movies of all time. There were some that I agreed with, but mostly I thought their list was a joke. So then I began to think to myself what I should do about it. So here is Jason Seymour's Top 25 Favorite Comedies of all time.

25. Animal House- Starring John Belushi. This movie was number 1 on the list of best comedies of all time. It was funny, but I have seen a lot funnier. It told a good story, but overall, I have seen better.

24. Robin Hood : Men in Tights - Starring Carey Elwes. This is from the genius mind that is Mel Brooks. Pretty funny movie overall, and was a great twist to the same boring story of Robin Hood.

23. The Matador- Starring Pierce Brosnan. I really didn't expect much from this movie, and it turned out to be one of the finest pieces of work I have ever seen out of the former Bond. While he is NO comic genius, he held his own as a washed up hitman.

22. Kung Pow: Enter the Fist - Starring Steve Oedekerk. This was a parody of kung fu movies. In fact, this was a kung fu movie, just with an actor added into it, and voiced over. Very funny, and incredibly stupid (but in a funny way.)

21. Spaceballs - Starring Mel Brooks. This was another parody from the warped mind of Mel Brooks. This movie was making fun of the whole Star Wars popularity. Classic in anyone's mind.

20. The Girl Next Door - Starring Elisha Cuthbert. This was a comedy that actually told a pretty good story. And of course with a gorgeous blonde in the movie, how could it not equal ratings? Good stuff all around.

19. The Naked Gun Series - Starring Leslie Neilson. I am pulling a copout and doing exactly what the bravo special did, and putting all of these movies together. I really couldn't set these movies apart, they were all funny in their own ways, so I thought why not put the three together and induct them as one?

18. Wrongfully Accused - Starring Leslie Neilson. This is a parody of the Fugitive, and it was very funny. One of the few Leslie Neilson movies I could watch over and over, and only slightly get tired of it.

17. Nothing to Lose - Starring Tim Robbins. You would think someone like Tim Robbins would be terrible in a comedy. With Robbins and Martin Lawrence together, this movie was very funny, and had a great story.

16. Old School - Starring Vince Vaughn. This movie was just hilarious, the story was paper thin, but there was tons of laughs and seeing Will Farrell streaking is something you will NEVER forget.

15. Mrs. Doubtfire - Starring Robin Williams. There is few funnier than Robin Williams, and him dressed up as an old english lady is just plain funny. There was a great story from the heart in this movie which really mixed well with the humor of Robin Williams.

14. Dirty Work - Starring Norm McDonald. Revenge for hire...how could that NOT be funny. This movie was very sophomoric in its jokes, but was still very funny in a very stupid kind of way.

13. The Princess Bride - Starring Carey Elwes. While most people wouldn't classify this movie as a comedy, I would. There was a sort of soft humor in this movie that made everything click just right, and made this movie a must see at least once in a lifetime, but the comedy was very subtle which is why this movie didn't get any higher on the list.

12. Shrek - Starring Mike Meyers. Who would have thought that a kids movie would be so very funny? Not I. There was a lot of funny parts added to a good story made this a very good movie. I just happened to think that the second one was better.

11. Dodgeball - Starring Vince Vaughn. This movie was just gold. There is nothing funnier than having Rip Torn throwing wrenches and yelling out "if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball" and having that poor kid get hit right in the face with a wrench, it was just hilarious. Ben Stiller as an uptight workout freak is great and Vince Vaughn as the laid back cool gym owner is great, and seeing Christine Taylor (Ben Stiller's real wife) get sick every time Ben Stiller's character tries to make advances at her is brilliant stuff.

AND NOW....THE TOP TEN COMEDIES ACCORDING TO SEYMOURMOVIES.COM

10. Team America: World Police - Starring Trey Parker and Matt Stone. This movie was done with puppets, so right away it is a great movie. The deep satirical comedy in this movie is absolutely brilliant. There were a few parts that dragged a little, but not enough where this movie wasn't just side-splitting

9. Shrek 2- Starring Mike Meyers. The long awaited sequel to the funny first movie, this movie didn't disappoint. With more humor directed at an adult audience but still keeping the kid friendly story and not going overboard with the jokes made this movie gold.

8. Van Wilder - Starring Ryan Reynolds. While there have been tons of college comedy movies made, few actually are as funny as Van Wilder. Ryan Reynolds makes this character pure gold, he is very subtle in his jokes, yet some are so over the top you can't help but laugh out loud.

7. Thank you for Smoking - Starring Aaron Eckhart. There is nothing funnier than a movie about political hacks making fun of themselves. That is sort of what this movie does. While this movie isn't a laugh a minute type of movie, it tells a very compelling story and has its own type of humor. This is a movie that I believe EVERYONE should see.

6. Waiting... - Starring Ryan Reynolds. I have already reviewed this movie, but I would like to let everyone know that it is a must see. The raunchiness of this movie is great, the Monty character is great, the whole movie is just very funny.

5. Wedding Crashers - Starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. One of the very few movies that is a laugh a minute movie that I really enjoyed. There is a great story to this movie and was just very entertaining to watch.

4. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy - Starring Will Farrell.  This movie was just overly hilarious. There are some very stupid parts, but they are so over the top stupid they are great. The rumble scene is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time.

3. Zoolander - Starring Ben Stiller. A movie about male models, how could this not be funny? While this movie is very brainless, it is very comical. Ben Stiller as the moronic Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson as the cool Hansel and Will Farrell as Mugatu was just brilliant casting. Everyone just clicked and everything just worked very well.

2. Blazing Saddles - Starring Gene Wilder. How Mel Brooks is still alive after making this film is beyond me. A hysterical movie that told a great story and was so vulgar it was funny. Clevon Little acted perfectly as the black man that is made to be sheriff of an all white southern town. Comedy Gold no matter which way you look at this film.

AND THE NUMBER ONE FAVORITE COMEDY IS.......

1 Young Frankenstein - Starring Gene Wilder. This movie is so subtle in its comedy it is brilliant. The story of Frankenstein with a Mel Brooks twist. A movie that I would put up to any comedy today and it would hold its own. A movie absolutely worth checking out just for the sheer comedy gold. You might want to watch it more than once, because there will be some parts that you missed the first time, pay attention to everything, there is comedy all around this movie.
