Scorecard
Acting-
Colin Farrell stars as Alexander the Great, in perhaps one of his better
performances of his career, but sadly, this was still a bad performance.
There was nothing exciting about Colin Farrell as Alexander, and was for
the most part dull. Anthony Hopkins as Ptolemy was the only good thing
about the acting in this film, and Ptolemy was just the narrator. With an
all-star cast like this film, the overall acting was just plain bad. Lets
list the actors in this film. Colin Farrell, Rosario Dawson, Angelina
Jolie, Jared Leto, Val Kilmer, John Rhys-Meyers and Anthony Hopkins. You
would think with some of those BIG name actors, someone could pull off a
good performance, sadly it wasn't to be true. (0)
Direction-
Oliver Stone has been known for making "Epic" movies that fail
miserably. This was no different. This had the big movie feel, but
that's it. The direction was "piss poor" at best, there was no
real flow to the movie, the entire story shook badly just because it
jumped around a little and didn't really have a steady story to follow. (0)
Story-
Alexander the Great has done some amazing things in his life, this film
showed one or two of them. He was an incredible leader, this film briefly
showed that he was a leader. He was a very charismatic presence, this film
he wasn't anywhere near that, he was more of a worried child than anything
else. I don't understand how someone can screw up one of the greatest
figures in world history, but they did it. (0)
Expectations-
I was expecting this movie to be an epic movie with tons of action and a
great story to follow. It wasn't either. There was something
"Epic" about this movie, it was an "Epic Disaster". (0)
Boring?-
I saw the original release at 175 minutes and it was the most boring movie
I had to sit through, it was a task to finish it, and no movie should be
like that. The directors cut was made into 167 minutes, and I still don't
understand how cutting 8 minutes is supposed to make any movie better.
This movie was too boring, if I could give negative ratings, this category
would get one. (0)
Final
Score: DUNG!!!! 0

Final Thoughts:
There was NOTHING I liked about this movie. It was a task to watch most of
the movie. There were a few scenes that were uncomfortable and most of the
scenes were just too bad to watch. I sat through this entire movie with my
good friend Jim, and we were both about to gouge our eyes out before this
movie was over. I understand why this movie was a complete failure in the
US only making about 40 million while it cost 150 million, sadly
internationally it made its money back. Don't see this movie.
