Entertainment Value-
Me, being a HUGE Futurama fan, I was
highly anticipating this release! This film has laughs, cries, a
horse...everything you need to entertain for a good hour and a half!
Acting-
This being a cartoon, it is always hard to tell the acting. Billy West as
Mr. Voice Over Extraordinaire was awesome as usual, with his characters
Fry, Zoidberg, Farnsworth, and Lars, the new guy, that you need to watch
the movie to understand. John DiMaggio was gold as Bender as usual, those
two jobs alone is worth an entire star.
Direction-
A television director, having done Drawn Together and an episode of
Futurama, Carey-Hill did a sloppy job with this film. I understand that
this film is going to be switched into a few episodes for television, but
I seriously cannot see how that is going to happen, just for the fact that
there were so many twists and turns. I have no problem with twists, they
always add something to a film, but there were just too many in this one.
If you missed parts of the film, it would be hard to catch up to speed
because there was a little too much going on. (0)
Story-
Spamming creatures sucker Earthlings into believing nonsense. Gold! Fry
having the secret to time travel tattooed on his ass. Gold! And Millions
of Benders stealing things throughout time! Platinum!!! BUT... there were
a few problems with the story... the writers tried to be too funny at
times, and it took away from the entire story as a whole, and a few plot
holes that leaves you scratching your head wondering what the hell just
happend. I did however LOVE the way they brought in old back stories from
the series, such as Seymour the dog, and Fry's nephew Phil. They brought
in back stories so well, it kind of distracts from the plot holes, and it
did well.
Expectations-
It's Futurama man...how can you not expect anything but awesomeness? This
little film easily met and surpassed the expectations I had going into the
film. Kudos!

Final Thoughts:
This is Futurama. You are either really going to like the cleverness and
brashness, or you will hate the sophomoric humor. I loved it, and if you
were a real fan of the show, you most likely have seen this already, and
you don't need me to tell you how great it was. But you have not seen it,
or weren't really a fan of the show, I say give it a chance, you shouldn't
be disappointed.
