getting in the way. But things are kosher now and on with the reviews!

Burger
RATED

Ooey Gooey sexual scene goodness.....nothing like hot Edward Norton

Genre:
Drama/Mystery
The
Low Down: Eisenheim
the Illusionist (Norton) travels back to Vienna and runs across his
old childhood sweetheart, Sophie (Biel), who just so happens to be engaged
to the Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell). And the Prince's Inspector (Giamantii)
is hot on the trail of Esenheim, who has a few more tricks up his sleeve
that he would let on.
Scorecard:
Acting:
Wow, just wow. Edward Norton proved once again why he is one of my
favorite, if not my all time favorite, actors. In my opinion, he is the
most versatile, most under-rated actors ever. He is compelling, not over
the top, believable, and has wonderful taste in women. Enter Jessica Biel.
Ms. Biel did well enough in her role. I though it was for the most part a
bland character, she fit well enough. Paul Giamantti was fantastic in his
role (curse that orange tree!!). One that I quite surprised with was
Rufus Sewell as Prince Leopold. I thought Sewell did a very good job in
his role, slightly crazy, ok....really crazy. Unfortunately I would have a
hard time finding another role for Mr. Sewell, he might just have been
type casted for life. (1)
Direction: Neil
Burger did a very good job in screenwriting this short story by Steven
Millhauser and directing it as well. The movie flowed well and he seemed
to bring out the full potential of his actors. Myself giving high remarks
to Norton, Giamantti and Sewell. (1)
Story: Exciting,
twisting and thought provoking. Though the underlying story is fairly
generic, the presentation of this story is given in a new exciting way. I
was quite impressed. (1)
Expectations: I
thought this movie was going to be great. But I expect that of everything
I see of Edward Norton. I was surprised or let down. (1/2)
Boring?:
Absolutely not. I
thought the whole thing flowed well and even the build-up was just enough.
Not to long or boring. With a running time of 110 minutes. I thought it
was at a well cruising speed. (1)
The
Wild Card is a category of my own creation that if a movie deserves
certain recognition (no matter how bad the movie) it should be rewarded
(possible 1/2 point)
Wild Card: Unfortunately there was nothing in this movie that I would
consider a Wild Card moment. Don't worry, they'll come!
Final
Score: 4 1/2
The Bob Perspective: Just
in case I didn't mention it before. Wow, just wow. Edward Norton does it
again with a tremendous movie that has proven to be one of my most
favorite of all time. I saw it originally in theaters and just recently
rented it again. I don't usually buy movies, but I think I just might have
to make an exception for this one. Bravo Mr. Norton. Bravo.
