SCORE
Acting-
Willem Dafoe plays a homosexual FBI agent on the trail of a crew of
vigilantes that are killing really bad people. Dafoe overacted a lot, it
worked in most parts, but some areas was just too much like when he was
explaining the house shooting or when he dressed up as a woman. I loved
Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as the MacManus twins, they did an
incredible job and were very entertaining to watch. And Ron
Jeremy...wow...Overall the combination of acting I would put at just
average.
Direction-
Troy Duffy did an odd job at the helm of this film. The film had a decent
flow to it, but for some reason it didn't seem to go anywhere, and for
that it left me scratching my head. A full star because it flowed nicely,
but since there was no place for the film to go really it would get a
zero. So they sort of cancel each other.
Story- A set
of Irish twins become vigilantes and start killing mobsters and pimps and
drug dealers with the help of an Italian low rung mobster raise hell for a
FBI agent trying to catch them. Soon things change when they decide to go
after the Italian boss and the Italian boss hires an ice cold hitman to
take out the twins that turns out to be someone extremely close to the
twins. The FBI agent begins to help the twins to try and bring down the
bigger fish. I really enjoyed the story!
Expectations-
While I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this film, I was expecting to be
entertained with a good story, and I was. There isn't a whole lot to
say about this. It met expectations, but did not exceed them.
Entertainment
Value- The dialog with the twins in the courtroom scene was
awesome, and it leaves you with satisfaction. This film was entertaining
from moment one and will leave you wanting more which is always a
plus!

Final Thoughts: While
this movie is not the finest, I can understand why it has become such a
cult favorite mob classic, I would much rather watch this film than say
Scarface. If you are a fan of the mob genre or the bang-bang-shoot-'em-up
type of films you will appreciate it, if not, you may not get what this
film was trying to accomplish.
