SCORE
Entertainment
Value- This film was incredibly entertaining! There is a
lot of catchy songs, loveable characters, an intriguing story, amazing
visual effects makes for a very very entertaining movie!
Acting- Let me say right off the bat... Susan Saradon is a
bitch. And she plays an evil queen/stepmother whose bitchiness in like
times ten, so it works very well!!! Props to the crazy lady! Amy Adams is
gorgeous in this film, and she plays the clueless and loveable Giselle
perfectly! The entire cast worked great together and everything just
clicked together!
Direction-
Kevin Lima being a "Disney Director" could not do a whole lot.
While the direction of the film was fine, this section is also the way the
director directed the film, and to be honest, I do not believe Lima had a
lot to do with the direction the film went, I believe things went the way
they did just for the fact that the story and the acting carried this
movie. Sorry, but when there isn't a lot of input from the director, there
isn't going to be a good score in this section. 0
Story- This story pokes fun at the Disney Princess cliché
and was freakin' awesome! The small jabs at other Disney films was
incredibly funny and very tasteful. I loved the premise of this film,
having an animated girl meet a prince, fall in love and get married all in
one day, all to be shattered, before she could be married the evil
stepmother/queen sends her into a well and she ends up in the magical
world of New York, where she meets a man and his daughter just trying to
get by. This story is fun for both kids and adults alike. There was really
nothing I did not like about this story.
Expectations-
While when I first saw commercials I thought that it was a very cool idea,
I saw more and more and began not expecting a whole lot. I was afraid that
it was going to be turned into a run of the mill kids movie, and was
thrilled with the final product!
Final Score:

Final Thoughts:
Like I said earlier, this film is for everyone young and old. It is very
cute and will be loved by children and crazy old people alike. If you have
yet to see this film, go out and rent it...better yet, buy it, this film
is one of those that you will want to watch over and over again.
