Quest for Camelot
Starring the Voice Talents of:
Gary Oldman, Cary Elwes and Jane Seymour
Directed by: Frederick Du
Chau
Rated G
Genre: Family
Synopsis: After a young girls
father is tragically killed, she sets off to become a knight of the round

My Thoughts: This movie has
an ALL-Star cast. For being an animated movie, this holds its own as just
a good movie to watch.
Scorecard:
Acting:
There is no real acting in this movie, as it is animated, but the voice
acting was phenomenal. Let me get into who all voiced in this movie. Gary
Oldman voiced Baron Ruber, the bad guy, Cary Elwes voiced the Blind man
Garrett, his singing voice is done by Bryan White (who is an excellent
country singer), Jane Seymour voices Juliana, the mother of the girl, her
singing voice is done by Celine Dion, Gabriel Byrne voiced Sir Lionel, the
girls murdered father, Don Rickles voiced the two headed dragons, Jaleel
White (of Steve Urkle fame) voiced bladebeak a hybrid of a chicken and an
ax, and Pierce Brosnan voiced King Arthur...with all that said, how could
that fail? It can't. (1)
Direction-
I have never heard of this director before, I don't think he had done
anything before, and I don't think he has done anything since. I really
liked the flow of this movie and was very impressed with the way the story
came together. (1)
Story- A
young girl's father is murdered while trying to protect the king. The evil
Baron Ruber tries to steal excalibur and then takes a village where the
young girl's (Kayley) mother is taken captive, Kayley then sets out to try
and recover excalibur and save her mother, and become a knight of camelot.
It is a very intriguing story, one that hasn't been done too many times
before. (1)
Expectations-
I actually expected a lot from this movie, I had heard that it was one of
the best animated movies ever made, while I wasn't too disappointed, it certainly
wasn't THE greatest animated movie ever, it was still good though. (1/2)
Boring?- Sadly
there were a few key parts that dragged. The movie altogether wasn't all
that boring, but the parts that were dull really hurt the quality of the
movie. (1/2)
Final Score: 4
out of 5
Final Thoughts: While not the
greatest animated movie I have personally ever seen, this movie holds its
ground strongly as a great movie all together. Being rated G, this movie
is a family friendly movie, but it is also a good enough movie to be
watched by grown-ups by themselves.
