Sin City

Sin City

Starring: Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke.

Directed by: Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller

 Special guest director: Quentin Tarantino.

 Rated R

 Running time: 126 minutes

Synopsis: In a city that is more corrupt than New Orleans, there are a few people tired of all the corruption and actually try and do something about it.

My Thoughts: That isn't the actual synopsis, its mine. That is the basis of the movie for the most part. To be honest I didn't know that Tarantino helped with this movie, if I did I would have NEVER seen it. I think Tarantino is overrated and a joke as a director. Lets see where this movie ends up:

  Scorecard:

Acting: With all these great actors in this movie, you would think that someone gives a great performance right? Well, you are right...only one person gives a great performance...Mickey Rourke as Marv saves this movie flat out from being a total waste of film. (1/2)

Direction: This movie had NO affinitive direction at all. There were so many stories going on at once it was hard to keep up with what was going on. The stories didn't intermingle with each other which really took away from the movie.(0)

Story: There is nothing special about anyone's story in this movie. They are all the same old' story, just tweeked a little to be a Tarantino-esque type movie. The only interesting story was from Marv, and his story wasn't long enough to help out the rating for this. (0)

Expectations: I really didn't have any expectations going into this movie. I saw commercials for it, and it intrigued me but had not expectations, so I wasn't disappointed. (1/2)

Boring?: While not very boring, I would classify it more as stupid. I couldn't get into the movie. The story (as bad as it was) was even more poorly told and there were no characters to really get behind. (0)

Final Score: 1 out of 5

Final Thoughts: If you like brain-dead Tarantino movies, I am sure you would love this movie. I just can't see why people classify this movie as entertainment. There was nothing entertaining in this movie (other than Marv, and he wasn't in the movie long enough to save it.) There was nothing I really enjoyed about this movie, and I just cannot comprehend why this movie made so much money in the box-office either...the scary part is I know I am in the minority, because there are TONS of people out there that loved this movie. I just can't see why.
