 Score

Acting- In one word...unbelievable! Christian Bale is incredible as Bruce Wayne, and a little on the creepy side as Batman, he overacts when he is Batman, but it works wonderfully! Heath Ledger gives the performance of his life, literally! Ledger gives an amazing portrayal of the often goofy Joker. He adds the perfect combination of insanity and intensity that the Joker should have. Aaron Eckhart was the perfect choice for Harvey Dent, he played the part of the political hero very well, and once Two-Face is created, Eckhart adds another dimension to what the character should be. I believe that Eckhart and Ledger should be nominated for awards during the awards season. With just those three actors and their roles, there is no way I can give this category anything less than a full star!

Direction- I was really having a problem with this. Christopher Nolan did an amazing job, but for this movie and the script it somehow did not seem enough. After seeing this movie on numerous occasions I realized what it was. It was a mixture of the story and the direction this film took. I however soon realized that the story was just fine, but the direction that Nolan went was not. Having no closure with a few of the characters really hurt this category, and blew the chance at a perfect film.

Story- Batman and Joker together are always interesting. But the way Christopher and Johnathan Nolan wrote this screenplay and made the characters a lot more dark, made everything much more interesting! Batman ended up being the anti-hero, Harvey Dent ended up being the hero of Gotham, and Joker was just so damned creepy and so unbelievably insane it was great!

Expectations- This is where things become difficult. I was expecting greatness from this film, and I got it. But, I also got so much more, I was on the edge of my seat the entire film, and everything was amplified because of the great acting, and enthralling story!

Entertainment Value- As I said above, I was on the edge of my seat for the whole film. Everything in this movie was entertainment to the extreme.

 Final Score: out of 5

Final Thoughts: In all honesty, this is easily the best picture of the year, that will most likely not get noticed by the academy. As of this writing, the film has become the third highest domestic grossing film of all time, and for great reason, this film is phenomenal is almost every way! I strongly recommend that you see this movie, and if you already have, go see it again, it is totally worth every penny of the cost of admission.
