Zoolander
Starring: Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson Directed by: Ben Stiller Rated PG-13 Genre: Comedy Synopsis: In the world of fashion, one man stands out as kind, Derek Zoolander. Unfortunately, he is a complete idiot. My thoughts: This movie is a stupid comedy that has been made famous by Stiller and Ferrell, its very entertaining just to see how stupid some people can be. Scorecard: Acting- If you expect great acting from Ben Stiller, you haven't seen his movies. He isn't a great actor, but for some strange reason, this character is very fun to watch, Will Ferrell as Mugatu is absolute gold, and Owen Wilson as Hansel is brilliant. (1) Direction- This movie was directed perfectly. Stiller did a fabulous job in keeping to the story and didn't stray all that much from the point of the movie. (1) Story- I loved this story. A stupid male model is brainwashed after his friends die in a freak gasoline-fight accident. This stuff writes itself it is so great. (1) Expectations- Sadly, this is where it begins to hurt. I heard that this was a perfect movie, laugh out loud moments every second. While it was VERY funny, it didn't live up to the expectations that fell upon it. (1/2) Boring?- There were a few parts that seemed to drag a little, but those parts didn't drag the movie down, and that's what this category means. So no, I guess it really wasn't boring. (1) Final Score: 4 1/2 out of 5 Final Thoughts: This movie is perhaps the single most stupid yet incredibly funny movies I have ever seen. Don't expect this movie to make sense, but do expect to laugh at sheer stupidity. There is a reason why I raked this movie at number 3 in my favorite comedies of all time. God I could really go for an Orange Mocha Frappacino right about now.
